This gala marks the official opening of the festival. We’ll give you a sneak peek of everything happening over the next four days. There will be short speeches by the people who make the festival possible – and a few surprises. Eos is the Greek goddess who announces the beginning, the moment when everything starts to shine. And fun is guaranteed: the ceremony will be hosted by Esperanceta de Casa Gassia, who will… well, we don’t really know what she’ll end up doing.

Gaueko is a deity from Basque mythology, the spirit of the night, master of darkness and nighttime dangers for those who venture too far. It’s also the name of the first screening of finalist short films – the heart of the festival.

A true privilege: listening to him is like connecting with hundreds of Pyrenean elders and opening fifteen books at once.
