A total of €4,400 will in cash prizes will be awarded, in addition to the festival trophies, created by a local artist, as follows:

The call for entries will be open from January 29 to May 29. Finalists will be notified on August 1, and the winners will be announced during the Tabaca Film Fest – 3rd Edition, to be held between September 18 and 27, 2026, in Gerri de la Sal.

When we talk about mythology in audiovisual terms, we refer to an entire universe of myths, legends, fables, superstitions, premonitions, folktales, traditions, and family stories that define a culture, a land, or a community. But mythology isn’t only about the past—it also includes modern reinterpretations of ancient tales in a contemporary context.
Universal archetypes and timeless narratives are more alive than ever. The hero, the sage, the unsolvable riddle, or the inescapable labyrinth—these figures continue to fascinate us. This genre draws from fantasy, horror, science fiction, mystery, historical cinema, epic drama, road movies, westerns, nature films, ethnographic, spiritual, philosophical films… Myth seeps into the most unexpected places and can be glimpsed in every gaze.

We also return with the Biterna Prize, dedicated exclusively to the mythologies and creators of the Pyrenees—a land rich in legends and ancestral stories. With this award, we seek to honor the tales that form part of the cultural and imaginative heritage of this unique mountain range.
This is a call to all healers, hidden witches, giants, nature spirits, fantastical beasts, Cathars, and wandering souls that roam the Pyrenees from end to end—from the Bidasoa to Cap de Creus, through Navarre, Aragon, France, Catalonia, and Andorra.

Despite its ancestral power, the Ofita Award is aimed at emerging creators, debut works, students, and young voices offering a fresh perspective on mythology.

If you’re working on a short film script inspired by mythology, you may apply for the Farrera Grant from Tabaca Film Fest to complete it and bring your vision to life.
The award includes a residency at the iconic CAN of Farrera (Pyrenees), a creative hub that has hosted some of the most outstanding screenwriters in today’s national and international audiovisual scene. It also includes specialized mentorships and professional follow-up on your project.
Open to students, professionals, or self-taught storytellers with a script in progress and a mythological vision.
